What is Power Edge Pro?
A Quick History
Inventor Joe Quinn spent 10 years of on ice trial and innovative sessions to come up with the Power Edge Pro system. Starting with pylons, then sticks lying across pylons and tires, Joe knew there was a better way to do elite level training. This headed Joe down a path of development that lead Joe to today’s Power Edge Pro training system.
As the demand for PEP training grew, Joe brought on Don MacAdam, a career professional coach who had coached in Europe, Asia, and in pro, including the NHL. He also has an extensive background in hockey training having co-authored 6 books on hockey conditioning.
When you combine Joe’s experience as a hockey parent and coaching minor hockey through junior A, and Don’s at major junior, university, and pro levels–they get it! They know players want to be challenged and have fun, coaches want to be training at the elite level, and parents want value for their hockey training dollars.
A Powerful Innovation for On-Ice Skill Development
There is a major shift in how on ice training will be done from this point forward. The Power Edge Pro training system will be the difference maker. The skating patterns and training methods are exclusive to Power Edge Pro. The Power Edge Pro training system utilizes a patent pending training system that is proprietary to our company.
Most power skating sessions focus on balance and edge control without the puck. Players have the puck on their stick for the entire Power Edge Pro training sessions to develop elite skating and superior stick and puck control.
PEP training patterns are based on the best ‘power skating techniques’ and skill sets of the best NHL players in the game today, like Crosby and Ovechkin. PEP is a progressive training system with unique skating patterns that produce results in a variety of superior skills such as speed, acceleration, balance, agility and quickness.
With the PEP training system you will be taught new skating techniques and improve existing ones with our challenging training apparatus.
PEP training creates resistance that stimulates a players read and react skills and creativity with the puck that translate to real game situations.
Individual Skill Development in a Team Setting
The Power Edge Pro training system enables coaches with any level of experience to teach players how to develop their skills in a linear progression.
In the Power Edge Pro training system, multiple PEP training apparatus are placed in different positions on the ice in a variety of different layouts depending on the skills being taught.
Players work on challenging skills patterns to stimulate decision making and creativity. The PEP training apparatus’s are like imaginary opponents that create resistance to challenge players to elevate puck control and edge control around, under, and over the PEP devices in quick succession.
Power Edge pro is fun and engaging for players training the repetitions that are needed to develop all fundamental skills automatically.
